Sustainability Strategy for a Greener Future
At Domestic and General Property Support Services Limited, we feel as a Commercial Cleaning, Grounds Maintenance & Building Maintenance Business a collective responsibility to reduce our environmental impact. We are also conscious of our responsibility as a business to take action and lead by our actions on trying to make a positive impact on our environment.
With the above in mind, earlier this year we invested in making changes, firstly by switching to eco-friendly cleaning products as we felt it was a simple yet impactful way to reduce our carbon footprint. By choosing eco-friendly cleaning products we show our commitment to sustainability for our future generations. We take pride in providing high-quality, eco-friendly cleaning services. Our office also only uses eco-friendly materials.

Current Investment
We have also made the decision and are in the process of transforming our Headquarters and our other two Commercial Units to be 100% Solar (with battery backup storage) to allow us to generate all of our energy needs going forward and to be completely self-sufficient concerning our grid energy needs.
We are also hoping to have all battery powered equipment in the near future moving away from electrical equipment. We are currently trialling battery operated equipment at present. Our grounds maintenance department is actively involved in bio-diversity and we are a member of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan.

Going Green with Zero Natural Force
At Domestic and General we believe that small changes can have a big impact on the environment. That’s why we made the decision to join forces with Zero Natural Force to help reduce our environmental impact. Zero Natural Force are 100% biodegradable products in 100% recycled containers and 100% Ecolabel. They are formulated to be effective in cleaning while being safe for the environment. Our window cleaning department uses ionic water through our reach and wash system, this is a no-chemical system.
Our People - Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Our people are our biggest success, and we prioritize in making positive steps towards an inclusive environment for all our colleagues with diversity and wellness at the core. We promote wellness at work and support well being for all and are delighted to be members of Health Assured. As a member of the Health Assured community, we have exclusive access to their mental wellbeing app, which helps you track your wellness, improve your mental health, and stay resilient during tough times.
We are committed to a workplace where equal opportunity and unbiased treatment forms the foundation of our equity, diversity and inclusion strategy. We continue to innovate and to add new people policies to support our employees. These include Domestic Violence, Fertility, Pregnancy Loss, Gender Pay Gap and Menopause Policies.
Gender Pay Gap:
Domestic & General's Pay Gap Report ensures our compliance with the requirements of the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021, it also ensures our firm's dedication to cultivating a work environment of fairness and inclusivity.
Community Engagement
Team Hope:
We have supported Team Hope for many years and support the wonderful work they do, looking after communities less fortunate than our own in Africa and Eastern Europe, where children’s lives are still heavily impacted by poverty and inequality. This truly amazing origination raises money to continue delivering specialist palliative care across the country.
Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services:
This truly amazing organisation raises money to continue delivering specialist palliative care across the country.

Waste Disposal & Green Waste
Waste Disposal:
At Domestic and General we focus on diverting as much waste as possible from landfills. At our office location we have two large Roll On Skips, which are sorted into separate recyclables from non-recyclables from the waste collected.
Green Waste:
Effective green waste removal is a crucial aspect of managing organic waste, these include grass clippings, tree cuttings /branches/shrubs, and lawns. Green waste, if not properly managed, can contribute to environmental problems such as methane emissions. That's why at Domestic and General we ensure that all our Green Waste is correctly recycled and placed in a separate skip for composting through our registered waste management partner.
